I have also been working as a journalist for the past 25 years and I’m the Bureau Chief of Channel S in Manchester. I’m also involved with journalist bodies such as North England Bangladeshi TV Journalist Association which I am the President of and I am a member of The London Bangla Press Club.

I’m also the Chairman of Labour Friends of Bangladesh (Tameside & Greater Manchester), Vice Chairman of Hyde Jamia Mosque, and Founder Member of Tameside Rotary Club.

Through these mediums, I have helped highlight various community stories and current issues and affairs impacting the life of British Bangladeshis. I have helped young aspiring broadcasters, reporters and journalists from the community to learn new skills and thrive within the media world.

I was awarded the Best Community Activist Award in 2006  by Channel S, JoyTel Community Award in 2015, Burnley Jamia Mosque and Islamic Centre Lifetime Community Achievement Award in 2018,  Pride in Hyde Award in 2016, Lifetime Sports Personality Award by Amana Foundation in 2016, Best Charity Organization in the UK Award in 2017 by Desh Foundation UK,

The Friends of Labour bring together politicians and policymakers to meet and motivate aspiring political and community activists.

The Hyde Jamia Mosque is the key mosque serving the spiritual needs of the locality.

The Tameside Rotary Club undertakes various social and charitable projects for the benefit of the community. Which includes health, welfare and educational projects.
