I set up my own charity in the UK called Just Help Foundation (JHF) which has been running since 2007. The charity has supported many people in Bangladesh.

Examples of the humanitarian work of JHF in Bangladesh include the Shihab Cancer Appeal for a 7 year old child, Hafiz Iqbal Heart Surgery Appeal for a 21 year old, Azua Enam Appeal for a 2 year old with heart ailments, and the Borsha Appeal for a 5 year old who had heart disease.

Other health support projects include supporting Burn victims. Community support projects undertaken by JHF in Bangladesh include assisting poor families with wedding costs for daughters of widows, building houses for freedom fighters, providing widow benefits, and the Bangladesh Sidr Cyclone Appeal to support victims of Sidr which hit the south coast of Bangladesh in 2007.

The flagship project of JHF is the Just help Eye Hospital set up in Gowainghat, Sylhet. The land acquisition was completed in 2012 and the project started actively in 2016. The hospital has provided over 700 cataract operations and is completely free of charge for poor people.

The hospital also runs general practitioner (GP) services, and to date has provided health services to over 4000 patients. In order to sustain this key project, the JHF has formed a Joint Venture in March 2020 with Rotary International who will ensure they source all equipment and run the operations of this institution with the support of JHF. I have also worked with others to raise over £200,000 for the above projects and appeals.

Just Help Foundation has also been active in the UK and works with schools and local clubs to support young people with education and sports so that they can have the best future possible. Every year I run an A Level and GCSE award recognizing outstanding students from all backgrounds.

I’m the founder and president of Hyde Boys Cricket Club which started in 2018. The main objective of the Club is to develop young cricketers from the community, and also offer diversionary activities for the youth which helps keep them away from drugs and antisocial behavior.
